3 Things I’d be Doing to Get in Your Best Shape Before the Christmas Holidays!

With the Christmas holidays just around the corner, many of us are thinking about how to get into our best shape for the festive season. If you’re looking to get in the best shape possible over the next 7 weeks here’s what I’d be focussing on! 

1. Prioritise Strength Training

Incorporating strength training into your routine is essential for building muscle and boosting your metabolism. Aim for at least 3-4 sessions per week, focusing on compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and presses. These exercises not only help you build strength but also contribute to overall fat loss. Plus, stronger muscles mean a more toned appearance just in time for the holidays!

2. Focus on Nutrition

Getting your nutrition on point is crucial for achieving your goals. Start by tracking your protein intake—aim for at least 150 grams per day for males and 125 grams for females. Fill your plate with whole foods like lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats. Meal prep can be a game changer; having healthy meals ready to go can prevent last-minute unhealthy choices.

3. Increase Your Daily Activity

Look for opportunities to boost your daily movement. This could mean taking the stairs instead of the elevator, going for a walk during lunch, or even dancing while you prepare for holiday festivities. Aim to incorporate more NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) into your day—it all adds up and can help you burn more calories without needing to spend extra time at the gym.
