From March 1st to March 22nd, members will compete in a fun, team-based version of the CrossFit Open, earning points through workouts, participation, and community challenges. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or new to the gym, the Intramural Open is designed for everyone to enjoy.
Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s event, including how to sign up, earn points, and make the most of the experience.
What Is The Intramural Open?
The Intramural Open is a gym-wide competition that brings our community together in a supportive, high-energy environment. Unlike the standard CrossFit Open, where athletes compete individually, our version is team-based—meaning every rep, cheer, and challenge helps your team succeed.
Over the course of three weeks, CrossFit HQ will release an Open workout every Friday afternoon and then on the 4th Week we will have a all out party WOD in our teams. We will complete these workouts at the gym on Saturday mornings (and Monday’s). To score points for your team, all you need to do is show up—they’re counting on you!
This event is about much more than just competition—it’s about camaraderie, pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, and having a great time with your fellow athletes.
How to Earn Points and Compete
One of the best parts of the Intramural Open is that there are multiple ways to contribute, no matter your skill level. Teams can earn points through the following:
- 🏋️♂️ Completing the Workout – Simply showing up to the Saturday Open workout or Monday session and you will score your team +1 point.
- 🎯 Top 3 Male and Female – The top 3 male and female scores will receive points.
- 🎭 Theme Week Participation – Each week will have a theme. Dressing up and getting into the spirit will earn your team +1 point.
- 🙌 Judge Another Athlete
- 📸 Post a Pic on Socials
Week 1 Theme: Gym Bros vs. Yoga Pros
Week 2 Theme: Wild West Workout
Week 3 Theme: Fluro Party
Week 4 Theme: Team Spirit
- 📸 Social Media – Post a picture or video of your Open experience, tag the gym, and use our event hashtag to earn +1 point.
- 🙌 Judge Another Athlete – Earn +1 extra point per week
Why You Should Participate
Whether you’ve done the Open before or this is your first time, there are plenty of reasons to get involved:
- Challenge Yourself – The Intramural Open is a great opportunity to test your progress and step outside your comfort zone. You may surprise yourself with what you can achieve.

How To Sign Up
Signing up is simple—just put your name on the whiteboard at the Box or let a coach know. Registration is $40 and closes this Saturday 15th February. We’ll draft teams and announce them live on Facebook Sunday 16th February at 4:15pm
